Decision Support Tool for Complex Urban Regeneration Projects

2016

Eparque created a decision tool for the World Bank to help city managers and senior planners systematically design and implement a large-scale urban regeneration project. Guided by the flagship World Bank publication “Regenerating Urban Land, a Practitioner’s Manual to Private Investment,” the decision tool asks a series of questions about the specifics of the contemplated project. Then, based on the answers, it recommends solutions that address the project’s challenges. The aim is to provide city government with tools to systematically design, structure, finance, and implement an urban regeneration project starting with the basics:

  • land administration and management

  • land base financing tools

  • environmental and social considerations

  • assessment of planning and management institutions
