Workshops to Discuss Economic Development Planning in Two Secondary Cities in Ghana

2018

The Eparque team organized three workshops apiece for Cape Coast and Agona Swedru, two cities in Ghana, with the goal of establishing a local multistakeholder forum for the creation of evidence-based policy options. These workshops included city-level officials, national-level policy makers, and business owners, academics, and other members of the local community. The first workshop was a kickoff meeting that brought together a large number of stakeholders to exchange ideas and build momentum. The second workshop was devoted to review of local assessment reports we had developed. At the last workshop, we presented the policies and recommendations we had developed during the 18-month-long project. At all three workshops, the stakeholders commented extensively, freely voicing their concerns and ideas.
